The prestigious Sonoran Arts Festival is one of the largest open air Fine Art venues in the Southwest featuring more than 125 local and nationally-acclaimed artists. Sponsored each year by the Sonoran Arts League, the Festival is a juried show open to artists from around the Country. With more than 400 members, the Arts League is a vital contributor to the cultural life in the Foothills, and a focal point for artists and art patrons.

Located in downtown Carefree in the shadows of the cactus studded foothills of Black Mountain. The outdoor Plaza offers a shopping and dining experience in an environment reminiscent of the Old Southwest. Panoramic views of the pristine mountain vistas, giant boulder formations, and vast stretches of the wide open Sonoran Desert, all part of the magical landscape waiting for you just minutes from downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix.

For three wonderful days the streets surrounding the beautiful Carefree Desert Gardens transform into a vibrant and stunning outdoor gallery showcasing a spectacular gathering of artists offering a wide variety of original works of fine art. Artist’s works include oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings, stone and bronze sculptures, etchings and mixed media. There is a vast array of pottery, photography, hand-crafted jewelry and select fine crafts. Be sure to visit the Sonoran Arts League Member tents featuring dozens of local artists under one tent.

A true feast for the senses, Festival highlights include wine tasting, artists demonstrations, live musical performances and delicious local cuisine. After taking in the sights and sounds of the festival, make sure to leave yourself enough time to discover the area's eclectic and renowned assortment of unique shops, galleries, boutiques, and real Western Saloons!

Tony Duncan - Hoop Dancer

In Hoop dance Tony Duncan creates many intricate designs that can be seen in nature such as the Eagle and the World and is consistently ranked among the top 10 in the world. He has traveled extensively across the United States as well as much of Europe and Asia. He recently was invited to entertain the First Lady and her guests in D.C.
Duncan, a recording artist and five-time World Champion Hoop Dancer, appears in the new music video for Nelly Furtado’s "Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)".

Estun-Bah (pictured right) has gained quick national recognition as a leading musical ensemble. Along with performing at various schools, festivals, art markets and corporate events, Estun-bah has accomplish the following. Performed for United States First Lady Laura Bush, Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts, Washington DC. Performed at the National Museum Of The American Indian - Washington DC, Indian Market - Santa Fe, NM., Heard Museum Fair and Gathering of Nations Pow-Wow, Albuquerque, NM.

To say VeeRonna has had years of training to perfect the musical art of playing the harp is an understatement. Beginning at age 8, she started playing, and since that time, playing the harp masterfully has become her life passion.


Specializing in Flamenco Harp and Sonoran Jazz, VeeRonna is truly a one-of-a-kind harpist. An Arizona native, VeeRonna traces her Southwestern roots back three generations, digging deep to embrace a melodic Latin flavor and peppering such seasoning upon each and every song. Amply supported by a Southwestern Smooth Jazz feel from stellar percussion, bass, guitar and vocals, VeeRonna captures the authentic Sonoran Jazz experience.

Leo A.
